GÜTTEN Fashion, Cologne
Tradition meets innovation – how a 120-year-old fashion house made the leap into the digital future.
From the Stone Age to the future
GÜTTEN Fashion in Pulheim near Cologne can look back on an impressive history. For 120 years, the family business has stood for high-quality women’s fashion and is now run in its fourth generation by Jeanine Dulava. Personal advice, individual style consulting, and comprehensive service—including in-house alterations—are the hallmarks of the dedicated team.
But even long-established companies have to move with the times. The outdated inventory management system had reached its limits: no DATEV integration, cumbersome workflows, and no future prospects. It was time for a change.

Modern inventory management with DATEV integration and workflow optimization
The search for the right solution
The requirements were clear: a modern inventory management system with a DATEV interface, optimized workflows, customized reporting options, and—above all—a future-proof approach. After initial contact with advarics through business consulting and recommendations from colleagues in the industry, the decisive conversation took place in 2025 at the unitex Fashion Festival.
The enthusiasm was immediate. The systematic approach behind advarics, its consistent focus on specialist retail, and its continuous innovation were convincing. The decision to switch was made quickly—by July 2025, the time had come.
Smooth implementation and enthusiasm across the entire team
The implementation of the inventory management system went extremely well. The advarics team supported the entire process professionally and ensured that all data was transferred cleanly. The careful preparation paid off—the system ran stably and reliably from day one.
The staff were immediately won over by advarics. The many practical tools noticeably make everyday work easier. The POS interface in particular stands out for its intuitive operation—a system that virtually explains itself.
For the managing director herself, the changeover after around 30 years on the old system was surprisingly straightforward. Thanks to the intuitive structure of the new inventory management system, the familiarization period was pleasantly short. Even long-time users of other systems find their way around quickly.
The improved workflows are clearly noticeable in day-to-day operations. Processes that used to be awkward and time-consuming now run smoothly and efficiently. The system “thinks along” and provides support exactly where it’s truly needed.
A look ahead
Switching to advarics was the right step for GÜTTEN Fashion. The combination of tradition and modern technology enables the team to focus on what really matters: advising customers in the best possible way and providing a first-class shopping experience.
Managing Director Jeanine Dulava sums it up perfectly:
“With the well-supported and straightforward switch, I feel as though I’ve been catapulted from the Stone Age into the future.” The immense relief in internal workflows makes everyday work more pleasant for everyone—and the switch is definitely worthwhile.
